Maria Tallchief (January 24, 1925-April 11, 2013) born in Fairfax Oklahoma. Tallchief was America's 1st prima ballerina and was the 1st Native American to hold the rank.  She was inducted in the National Women's Halls of Fame and receive a Kennedy Center Honor for lifetime achievement.
 

 


Bacon Rind (1860-1932)was an Osage Tribal Councilman served as assistant chief, and was elected principal chief in 1912. Bacon Rind was politically progressive and favored the allotment of the Osage Reservation and the development of its oil and natural gas resources. Bacon Rind is the most photographed American Indian leader in history.
 


One-eight Osage, Clarence Leonard Tinker (1887-1942)  was the first American Indian in U.S. Army history to reach the rank of major general. Clarence Tinker was the 1st American General to die in World War II. Tinker Air Fore Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is named in his honor. 


Larry Sellers is an American actor of Osage/Cherokee/Lakota heritage. Born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Mr. Sellers received an Emmy Nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his work on Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.
